Landmark Showhome

Winner of the Showhome of the Year award “Landmark Homes’ new showhome at 174 15th Ave has broken new ground in creating a modern Kiwi classic that is ahead of it’s time. This is a home that should come with a warning: “You will FALL in love with it.” It’s bold use of dark and light, from the near-black Linea (Dulux Taihape) weatherboards and the off-white contrasts in window achitecture, picket fence and pergola, makes a real statement.” Lynette Lochhead of Design on James worked with Debbie Clarke of Landmark Homes to create a home that oozes style, opulence and comfort and one that showcases interesting textural combinations of metallics, glossy fabrics, warm colours and sophisticated accessories and lighting. “We wanted a modern look that utilised a lot of the modern products in a classical way, to give the home permanence and its own unique original charm,” says Lynette. The Temuka showhome will appeal to a wide variety of people and the play on dark and light is accentuated throughout the home.” Bay of Plenty Times, 2007

Art-deco/Contemporary Renovation

Mount Maunganui, Tauranga "We were eager to make our home look modern and yet at the same time hold onto the uniqueness that it has as a stucco house built in 1948. The look had to blend with the sea views and remain light and bright to maximize the outdoor indoor feel. Design on James worked closely with us to achieve the look and feel we desired. It is simply fantastic, everything fits together just so well – colour, textures, and simplicity. All comes together to create an environment that draws us home. Seascape Lodge

Seascape Lodge on the outskirts of the Bay of Plenty has spectacular views of the inner harbour and Kaimai ranges, offering a peaceful and tranquil retreat.

The interior of this contemporary home was co-ordinated by Design on James while the owner was living in Australia.It offers a serene and modern venue for special occasions, long weekends and overnight retreats.

In conjunction with the owner, Design on James created an easy relaxed home for varied groups to enjoy by co-ordinating a sleek modern kitchen, a large tile entrance and living area, white leather streamlined couches from Insight Furniture, Modern Inner Concept Roman Blinds, and bedding from Linen ‘N’ More with Dream Cotton Sheets.

After seeing what Lynette had helped create at Matahui Lodge, we knew we did not have to look further. Lynette looked after the whole package, right down to even the plants at the entrance way. The value Lynette has given to the overall project is one of style, yet individuality. Lynette gave me the confidence to choose colours and textures that I probably would not have been brave enough to choose on my own. My ideas were never discounted or discouraged and were usually incorporated successfully in the design...but always with an extra bit of "Lynette flair" that gave it that "coomph" it needed.

Together we have created a family home that is stunning, yet harmonious and not merely one that an interior designer has stamped their style on.

As owners of an exclusive lodge, the interior of our home was extremely important. Lynette looked after the whole package for us. The value of using Lynette's services has been immense. One of the most remarked upon facets of our home is the dcor. The end result is stunning, without being in the least contrived, it's so very easy to live with.
